Metatheory or Methodology? Ethnography in library and information science

March 1, 2017    News Conferences Methodology Ethnography

My goal in this methods paper is to show the difference between metatheory and methodology, and talk about why I believe ethnography is best understood as a methodology, rather than a metatheory. I provide examples of how ethnographic methods-as-tools are used in LIS to answer different kinds of questions and support a range of worldviews. Metatheory or methodology? Ethnography in library and information science is out now in Information Research.
